My apologies. My original post was incomplete. The problem occurs when they have caused the list to drop down.

When I drop down the list on a base class combobox and then start typing, the backspace key does not work as I would hope.

It appears that the best I can do with the base class is to close the list and re-open it, and then start typing again . In this case, typing starts as if I had just entered the field.

Am I still missing something here?

>Ain't no code of my involved. I do have a subclass for my combobox, but it doesn't do anything with keystrokes. I don't see how there's anything I'm doing to affect this.

>But this is not native behavior for combo boxes. You can check it out yourself. Drop a base class combo box on the form and set its RowSource. You will be able to use the back space key.
