I have used FoxBase and VFP since version 1.0, and I have NEVER experienced memo corruption. One of my applications has more than 4000 users, and memo fields are used and updated regularly. So I think you are exaggerating the problem.

Require that all workstations have a UPS, and train your users not to turn off their computers before they have exited all programs. And train them not to unplug any network cables while the computer is still running.

>Has anyone used text files in place of memo? In other words, each record in my database has a userid. I would like to maintain a history of changes (i.e. title, address, status) each member and thought the risk of corruption working with a memo field would be higher risk than appending to a text file for each member.
