I've taken a picture of the new and old package of the same cereal, and while not significantly smaller, it's about one quarter smaller than the old one - in volume. In mass, however, about one third - most of these cereal boxes are actually empty, anyway, so it's now not only smaller but also emptier.

Start carrying a small calculator, in case one package's unit price is per pound, and another one's is per ounce - I've seen that before, and I'll bet that the trick will be used again. And watch for all sorts of other tricks - the one they advertise as price down may actually be more expensive (down from what? - well, from the last week's price, when we made it ridiculously expensive for no other reason than to boast a huge discount this week). Open four eyes.
