Same with search results - I often do the search in a new tab, get a bunch of results in a table (where each row has a checkbox which then does nothing, because the view button is gone; there's only the save-to-folder button, but I don't know whether I'd want a bunch of messages saved into a folder before I read them), so I have to view them one by one - can't select five related messages and view them in a new tab. So I view one - in a new tab, and want to see the whole thread; I select a few (15 is a few... and somewhat slower than it used to be; 2-3 messages come up snappy, 15 take time... is this now o(n**2) operation?) and click view... and it took me quite some time to remember that they will definitely refuse to appear in the current tab as they always did; they will go back to the first tab (not the one where my search was, nor where I read found messages - but the one where I clicked Search button).
Which doesn't invalidate the case for use of .net per se, it just shows that there are things which were easier to accomplish under VFP.
