I see our hardcore Democratic buddies are speechless on this issue. Perhaps they're too busy elsewhere running off at the mouth about how all of this is due to 8 years of failed Bush policies. Yeah, that must be it.

Since it's all politics as to who did what and who signed on to bills and who didn't, unfortunately, there's no way that anyone in Congress will ever be held accountable. Instead, they'll find some peripherally involved junior officials to flagellate when they decide it's time to pin the blame (that is, after they run around blaming Bush).

There should be public outrage over this. Outrage. While I am inclined to scorn the Dems on this, and how could I not when looking at the political contributions of Fannie and Freddy, there needs to be a non-partisan commission to look into this with the power to force from office those officials of either party who were in a reasonable position to know that there were problems. Liberals and conservatives both should not tolerate this type of governance.

Ummm...also, not sure you want to mention "fannies", Fanny Mae, and Barney Frank in the same post.
