I'm not interested in Dem vs Rep in this situation. I agree with her that, since this is not a political situation, the Taliban simply could not be negotiated with unless you're willing to offer them everything they want. They are religious fanatics, not political realists. As they've already shown, they will use any pact to spend time building up their base and then they will break the pact with murderous self-righteous fury.
