Does it have to be PDF ?

Here we gather data very sucessfully with excel. Agents send us fulfilled excel sheets (our format) and then it is peace of cake to get it into fox.

Chk email BTW ;)

>>>So... is there such an animal? A PDF writer which will create a distributable PDF with form/fields, such than can be automated from within VFP and that the form with data can be saved and sent back?

>>Why automate the PDF process at the 'remote end'? If I understand correctly, you need data in a PDF. Develop a FoxPro application to gather and send the data as XML, TXT, CSV, or whatever, and if necessary generate the PDF with form/fields back at the base camp from the transmitted data, and send it on for further handling.

The one PDF I have for a sample (Canadian passport application... supplied by someone on the team :) was created in something called "Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.0", but I'd rather use a sling instead of a cannon. Adobe's bloatware may be just too much for what I need to do; it permanently tries to call home etc etc... but then it looks cheaper than Amyuni, and if it doesn't have these gaps in the documentation, it may just be the thing.

>So this is exactly the opposite from what I was finding on UT - in all threads I managed to read (even with this dot net way of seeing the whole thread if not longer than 15 messages) the problem to solve was "I am getting a PDF form that I need to return with data - can VFP fill them in automatically?". My problem is "I need to create a PDF form that someone will fill, send back to me, and then I'll need to read it and get the data out from it".
