>>>>>>>>>Well, it had to happen sooner or later. I am no longer a technical consultant with the Memphis Police Department. As of Monday, I'll be the System Manager for the MPD's Real Time Crime Center! Yep, benefits and all that other good stuff! And the good thing is, police work is all but recession proof - er I hope!

I've been nearly brain-dead tired the last month or so, having to plough through reams of others' un-commented code to find bugs, etc., and learn the ropes, but now it's easing up.

>>>>>Would you believe Brighton was featured in the NY Times a couple of weeks ago? Every Sunday the travel section has a page called "36 hours in xxxxxxxxx". Things to do, places to eat, clubs, etc. on a hypothetical weekend trip. Usually they are U.S cities but not always. I was quite surprised to see Brighton. Interesting, though. What parts do you agree and disagree with as a local?

>>>I'm sure you're right. But it isn't meant to be comprehensive. The idea is to suggest some things you might do on a 36 hour weekend visit.

>>BTW The Channel isn't all that cold, esp. cf The Atlantic. Sometimes high summer we can get in the sea without any faffing and squealing.

>The water sounds like the ocean off the coast of Maine. There are two schools of thought. One is it's warm enough to swim in only during July and August, and the other is it's too cold then, too.

Three! How about the school of dolphins?

Personally I don't like going in without 15mm of neoprene around me :-)
