>>>>I don't know that I disagree with that. My concern is the homosexuals trying to teach their ways to the elementary school kids, and all their other "in your face" stuff about homosexuality. I don't agree with it, I don't want it flaunted in my face, and I don't want them getting preference points from the guvment. What they do in their homes is up to them, regardless of what I think about their personal lifestyle.

>Well I am sort of, I am an enigma, I am an Irish Democrat Catholic Conservative if you can imagine such a beast. I recall the scariest day of my life was one Sunday morning I was watching Firing Line and found my self agreeing with William F. Buckley, Jr. I remember thinking this can't be, there is no way I can be agreeing with this man, he is from the "other" side.

William F. Buckley was a giant in the arena of public debate. Since y'all are both brilliant, I can see why you agreed with him. He was a very logical thinking person.

Another to look at is, Charles Krauthammer. This guy is a man among boys, when it comes to deep thought. As you might expect, I don't agree with all this positions, but like Buckley, he has the ability to drill right to the core of the matter and boil it down so that us mere mortals(no pun intended) can more easily decipher what is going on.

As for lineage, I am a Scottish/Irish, protestant, conservative and there are lots of us around. Being a cop for so many years has probably also made me more of a conservative than most. I like the notion of people working for what they get, not handouts. Then there is the crazy notion that the government is not my friend (see Ronald Reagan), and that less government is better. Taxes should only be implemented to pay basic stuff so government can support the infrastracture and defend our country. People who are capable of working, but won't, should go hungry. People who can't work, should be taken care of.
