>>>>>As to the Jerusalem gate, there is also no evidence it doesn't exist. This is the same argument that has been used regarding the existence of the Pool of Saloam, and many, many other archealogical discoveries. Jesus didn't say it was impossible for a rich man to pass through the eye of the needle, which it would be for a person to pass through a needle, like those used to sew. Therefore, it would have to mean the Jeruselem gate, which requited bowing down, bye the bye. The passage referred to the rich man's unwillingness to give up his riches, because he had made them his god, and no I don't think you'll find anything that says that verbatem. Some people make their wives their god, others a car, a fine home, etc. God says to have no others before Him.

>>>Obama wants to take my money and give it to his constituency, so they can think he is so wonderful. I donate to the charities of my choice, not who some socialist tells me to. I'm one of those guys who doesn't need any help in figuring out how to give my money away. Between my wife and I, we've got a good handle on it.

>>Maybe so, but I'm guessing (and I admit this is just a guess), that you aren't taking Jesus at his word and giving it all away. Looks like we'll be able to continue this discussion afterward face to face then. ;)

>Actually, I am giving it all away, just not yet. My kids will get to fight over it, after I'm gone. Of course, I'm only at the halfway point of my life (provided I live to be 110), so I have a few more years to go! :) (Call me the ultimate optimist)

Of course, that only works if you can classify your kids as 'poor'. As far as being at the halfway point, I haven't decided yet if I'm going at all. Depends on how interesting I find the world when I'm say, a couple of hundred years old. Then we'll see (or, at least, I will, if you're going at a mere 110 or so).
