>>>BTW like me you are using multiple returns as in your example:) It shouldn't be a bad practice if many developers including those claiming that it is bad are using it.

>>Cetin, You are right and I was trying to make that point exactly even though I said I wasn't taking a side. I suggested it was best left to each developer to decide what works best for them. For me I do it also technically but I have my own standards for how far I would take it. You obviously are free to do what you want and I am not judging you or anyone else.

>That's okay if you're a one-man shop, but if you work as part of a development team, then you need coding standards and everyone needs to follow them. the coding standards that most c# coders follow as a general rule are available all over the net. They are a good starting point. Its nice knowing that I can pick up someone elses code and start wokring with it without trying to figure out what the hell they're doing.

Agreed. I like to try to use a standard which the rest of my team uses as well and I look for other standards to see how that aligns with our thoughts. Microsoft doesn't always follow the standard they put forth either on a 100 % consistent basis. Plus there are those clear standards and then those like this one that is decided differently by different folks. I am only saying it isn't for me to judge someone elses position or expect them to follow what I would think best. I am not sure if there is a clear standard for this paticular idea.
