>I have a friend who is looking for an MP3 player for her daughter. What are some options with downloading music? Obviously, Ipod\Itunes but 99 cents a pop can get a little expensive, especially for a young child who's tastes change constantly. Can anybody recommend any subscription-based players or plans?

I've just realised. 99c a pop you say? Does that mean "per track"?

I mean, a whole album CD cost you what in the USA, $13-$14? Now quite often albums have 14 or more tracks on them. That means downloading separate tracks can cost you more than buying an album. AND it's your expense to buy the blank CD and burn it (if that's your wont).
