I don't do any web stuff, so I'm not keeping up in that area. MVC? Yeah, I know "what" it is, but nothing else.

As for innovation, I've always said that many other companies are more innovative than MS.

>Craig - and I thought you were the "enlightened one", what with all your friends at MS :)

>For example. take a look at Google gears. Along with many other features, it provides you with a copy of SQL Lite. It is stored in the users personal folder. It is a fully capable SQL engine, not unlike the MS SQL "Everywhere/Anywhere" thingy except not quite so "hamstrung". It is a 200k 'ish initial download. When you have no connection or decide to go off-line, your data is written to SQL Lite. When you want to re-sync to your on-line data base, you can do. Local data storage is also part of the HTML5 specification. Also, browsers like FireFox (V3+) have built in support for Gears. Also, Adobe "AIR" works on/off line along with, as Victor said "Morfik" to name but a few. Many of the Ajax frameworks have "out of the box" support for Gears/AIR. Rapid development and local storage - sounds familiar doesn't it ... :)
