"At the debate, McCain said Obama's plan would give the government the power to redistribute wealth by raising taxes."

Not much of an explanation. What does he mean by that, and why is that bad? With lowering taxes, the debt will not be just delayed upon our grandchildren, it will actually grow much larger, because it will be paid slower and more interest will accumulate. Or the whole financial system will just have to burst, create new money, start anew. So, the current way of distribution is just forever pumping everybody's money into the repayment of common debt, no increase of overall wealth but by new debt. What redistribution does he mean the other guy has in mind, then?
