>>I have no idea why NBC was on (probably was watching the news and forgot to change the channel) but I actually thought the opening bit was pretty funny and she came off very well.

>>Since one funny bit from SNL (excluding weekend update) is far higher than their weekly average I quickly changed the channel.

>So you missed the bit right after Weekend update with 3 businessmen yelling "Fartface" at each other for what seem like no reason and 5 hours. I think we are back to the Tim Kazurinsky - Terry Sweeney days. I never thought it could get that bad again.

I gave up on it years ago. Would have recorded this one to see the Sarah Palin and Tina Fey bits if I had heard about it, but it would take a special occasion like this to get me to watch. It was great, then it got not so great, then it started living on its reputation -- which is the normal pattern. A show like The Sopranos that stays strong through the end is very much the exception.

Still watching Mad Men? I am, but this season has been a disappointment. They play up the Sopranos angle because of Matthew Weiner but it's no Sopranos. Boy, do I miss that show.
