It seems difficult for many Americans to distinguish between terrorists and the vast majority of Muslims who are not terrorists. Since 9/11 it's a very emotional issue. For some it's easiest just to think of all Muslims as terrorists or potential terrorists. The steady stream of anti-western coming from Arabic leaders and clerics hasn't helped.
