Remembrance Day here is 11/11 at 11:00 to mark the actual date/time of the end of WW I.
Only a few years ago I learned of the great Canadian sacrifice in the ill-fated raid on Dieppe, well before D-Day.
Now Dieppe is just a short hop across the Channel from our local port, Newhaven. There is an old fort overlooking the harbour, where there is a lot of info about the Raid, in a big display area, with models, pix, articles, etc.
So we haven't forgotten, where I live.
>Remembrance Day is more than a month away, but I thought I'd share this e-mail with virtually everyone in my contacts list because it's very much worth reading.
>It made me proud to be Canadian, although quietly so ... maybe a little more pride would do this country well.

>Lest we forget!
