>>>>>>>>>>>>I think there are two separate issues. I agree with you that the Democrats are recruiting voters who would be unlikely to vote otherwise, and that it isn't necessarily an expression of the will of the people. (Stop the presses! -- I criticized the Democrats). But I think voter suppression is a very real issue, and we know which party is doing that. The Republicans have very specific, very targeted strategies for minimizing turnout in some areas. Fortunately, it isn't going to be enough to save them this time (evil cackle).

Howeveer, it has happened on both sides so it is difficult to determine which side has the most idiots. In every group there are always some. I don't remember there being so many in previous elections though. Perhaps that is because more people are involved in this election than previous ones so perhaps the number of miscreants and idiots in each group is greater as well.

>>>Personally I agree with the commentators who worry about the Republicans describing areas where they are not supported as anti american. I think if Obama wins he will be more at risk of assassination by the lunatic fringe than many previous presidents .

In their speeches, Palin is the pitbull attacking Obama on behalf of McCain (it keeps him cleaner than he would be). Obama doesn't strike back (against a woman ), so Biden is Obama's pitbull (keeping Obama cleaner than he would be as well). It is typical of every election. Each candidate has always used their VP nominee to do their dirty work so they can disclaim it later if they want while still doing the damage.
