Yeah, touche. Still, subtitles are pretty standard these days. Not sure why they opted not to provide them in this case. A lot of people can probably use the closed captions instead. From the quick research I did on the web it looks like the HDMI connection between my TV and DVD player may be the joker in the pack. CCs probably work fine with older cables (did not test).
