>>>May I say something good about grids? :)
>>>Whatever are new technologies about, users still like to browse data, probably it's human nature to get everything on hand even if it's million of records.

>It was just my personal observation. Usually, my 'finder' form gives options: go to entry or go to list, and usually they ask me to change default selection from entry to list. Also, many queries will end up with more than one record, that again brings up grid issue. Certainly, users want to get job done, but IMO most of jobs are really data-centric. Hoewver, if my client doesn't like grids, browsing etc., I'm still happy with this.

What Mr. Booth said, my feelings exactly. Browse windows and grids remind me of spreadsheets. In my not too short career at developing custom apps, I have been required to substitute some sort of time-consuming data collection being performed in spreadsheets like Lotus 1-2-3 or Excel(it must not be that short, you don't see Lotus 1-2-3 too often anymore) and with all the advantages of modern GUI-facilitator tools and relational databases I don't find data browsing that useful (or productive), and users have specifically asked for them only in a few ocassions. My use of grids are when absolutely necessary and for very small sets of data ( <100 records).

P.S. And absolutely Not for data entry.
