That's EU - European Union, I guess. May be pronounced in a different order in some languages, maybe French. For a moment you got me there, UE is the car tag code for the city of Užice, UA is for Ukraine, .ae is web domain for Arab Emirates (why did I imagine they'd have an 'united' somewhere?), and I was getting a slightly more mixed up than usual.
