I agree. The AP poll ->20th showed 1 pt as well. That one is a couple of days old now though and that still only makes two polls out of all of the polls (a very small minority)

One thing the polls don't show (unless you research the polls) is the party breakdown. In most polls, the party breakdown is running Dem 60, Repub 30-40% so that explains Obama's higher numbers. Quite a few people called refused to do the poll though and we don't know if those are Independents, Repubs, or Dems. Now, if the same breakdown holds through the election then the polls are accurate (actually Obama would probably win by a larger margin).

>It seems hard to believe McCain has gone from 6 points down to 1.1 in the past two days. Nothing I know about would explain it. I will keep my eyes open for the other polls when they come out with their next updates.

>>I don't think any other polls support those numbers. One note: the pollster had the most accurate results in the 2004 election.

>>A snapshot:
>>
>>McCain has cut into Obama's lead for a second day and is now just 1.1 points behind. The spread was 3.7 Wednesday and 6.0 Tuesday. The Republican is making headway with middle- and working- class voters, and has surged 10 points in two days among those earning between $30,000 and $75,000. He has also gone from an 11-point de?cit to a 9-point lead among Catholics.

>>About IBD/TIPP: An analysis of Final Certified Results for the 2004 election showed IBD's polling partner, TIPP, was the most accurate pollster of the campaign season.
