It's similar here, but with one important exception. If your contract says that you are not allowed to work for a competitor, the contract must also specify how long this quarantine is, and what geographical area it covers. But if a quarantine is set, then the first emplyer also must pay the employee in full for this quarantine. So what happens sometimes is that people who has such a contract relocates and start working for a competitor outside the "restricted" area, and gets paid both by their earlier employer and the new one!

>Reply No. 2. I forgot to mention that sometimes there are employee contracts in force that might limit how you walk into a new job. For instance the contract may stipulate that if you quit, then for a stipulated period (1 or 2 years possibly), you cannot work for a competitor on the same sort of projects that you handled before you quit. I've heard tell that those clauses may, after all, be unenforceable, but afaic, if you signed a contract, you're bound by it.
