When you create a setup project in Visual Studio and add desktop shortcuts or Start button shortcuts to the installer the installer does not create "real" shortcuts but rather shortcuts to "shortcuts".
The problem I am running into is that a "normal" shortcut I can right-click and select Run As (or Run as Administrator in Vista) but a VS installer shortcut I can not do this and I have to instruct my users to go to the application folder and find the exe and right-click the exe.
The "fake" shortcut doesn't even support the Find Target feature in the properties so I can't instruct my users to find the exe this way.

Has anyone encountered this before? Any hints or tips are welcome.
