>>>>>>But you're missing the point, Alan. It is because the government knows best and is there to protect business people and workers from running their business - or offering their labor as they see fit. Without mandates from government - which knows best and probably has the benefit of experts and studies - there is little chance of enlightenment among the unannointed.

>Really ? I remember Breakfast TV news showing a womans body with the top of her head blown off. Was she some terrorist like in the movies. I doubt it.

The really tragic part was that Ghaddafi's little daughter was killed. But since we have an executive order prohibiting assassinating foreign leaders, the only ethical thing to do is bomb hell out of the immediate vicinity so if he *happens* to be killed, well, that's just a casualty. A very good case could have been made for taking out Ghaddafi at that time - and a very good case could be made that not having the courage to revoke that "executive finding" is criminal.

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
