That is where the misunderstanding is then. I didn't read it as your view, but rather your idea of what the average American's view is and I don't think you are qualified to do that as neither am I. I never claimed to speak for all other Americans, only those whom I know or have spoken with and they have shared their views with me which I venture to say is probably a LOT more than you have come into contact with.
