>>>Errr... Are you implying that you are the one who is the only one who can make statements of the rest of the citizens of your country? I cannot collow your logic. I did not speak for you, nor did I want to. I gave my view upon it. Nothing more, nothing less. If you want to read more into it... so be it...
>
>>That is where the misunderstanding is then. I didn't read it as your view, but rather your idea of what the average American's view is and I don't think you are qualified to do that as neither am I. I never claimed to speak for all other Americans, only those whom I know or have spoken with and they have shared their views with me which I venture to say is probably a LOT more than you have come into contact with.

>We both live in different worlds. I live in a world of social democracy, the topic of discussion here. Maybe more than you realise the american culture and politics are exported to the rest of the world each and every day. Remember that the american election debates are front page news up here and some things are live broadcasted. Each aspect from the mudthrowing, the speech of colin powel, the assasination attempts, all reach the front page. EVERY ctitizen up here is, high or low schooled, confronted with american politics and culture. It reached the point that it is shadowing our own elections. Now please put that in contrast with joe average in the USA. He might (slight chance) come up with the name of the prime minister of the UK, though I'd bet that most will say "Tony Blair".
>
>I also firmly believe that we from the outside watching it from a distance are very well able to judge of what goes on. You (not you personally) are in the middle of it, with all the confusion and short of unbiased media sources and, above all, a lack of comparison. To what are you comparing? That makes it incredibly easy for politicians to use FUD as a strategic instrument of their campaign.
>
>True, you have a lot more contact with joe average in your society, but what does that say ?

That is so insulting to say we think the Prime Minister of the UK is Tony Blair. We all know it's Margaret Thatcher.
