Ironically, the early versions of this app were written when I was an employee--first of a programming firm, and then of the governmental agency for whom the app was written. I never had to deal with the insurance and contract issues. When I went into business for myself, I consciously chose not to work for governmental agencies and to focus on small businesses (generally 1 to 25 employees) in the healthcare field where I have an extensive background. I inherited the support of this app about 10 years ago when my former employer closed his doors.

I have enjoyed nearly 15 years of stimulating projects and great clients without ever being asked for E&O or GCL--and many of my clients are attorneys! I have been able to hand-pick clients and, in doing so, to find folks who have been great to work with. There has never been a dispute, much less any hint of litigation. It's like I suspect business may have been conducted a generation ago. That said, things are changing, I'm not taking on new clients but will continue to support the existing ones. Aflter all, they're almost like family!
