Even though the problem I had was not a VFP problem I'd like to take the opportunity to express gratitude again for the support you give to the VFP community. Your help as well as that of several other generous experts is part of what makes the VFP community especial and what has literally kept it alive. Would you suggest a way that we beneficiaries can show our appreciation in a more practical way?

Alex

That, coupled with the windows taskbar, which I like to keep visible, makes the viewport too small. Hiding the task bar helps but a horizontal scrollbar appears, which shouldn't since ample horizontal space is available. Seems Windows sets the overall window to the width it wants but vertical scroolbar robs space requiring horizontal scroll bar.

That happens because the local screen is wider than the remote screen which prevents a full screen display and therefore requires space for the top and bottom borders of the local window.
