>Who cares? I read a news story and then at the bottom are people's comments. I know, don't read them, and I don't, but why would people write them and why would anyone else read them? Here on UT we have somewhat of a relationship between the participants, but on these news sites, everyone is a stranger. Why would I care what some teacher in Spokane or an idiot sitting in his trailer in Idaho think about the story? I just don't get it.

I suspect it's probably the same people over and over who wirte comments, so I suppose they develop a sort of relationship too. Probably a lot of name calling, but I guess that's a relationship of sorts. I mean there can't be that many people who feel inclined to write comments on those stories, can there?
