>Question 1
>I have a tester who was sent the win'95 version of an exe and installed it on his win 3.11 machine. D'oh! It was clearly labelled!
>
>Anyway he now needs to know which files to remove, clean etc and I just do programming, I have no idea about operating systems. How do I get a list of files? I got a sort of list by hacking the inf files but don't feel confident about them.
He could start by deleting the app directory. Would it really be worthwhile trying to figure out which files he could
safely delete from the \WINDOWS or WINDOWS\SYSTEM directories?

>Question 2
>If I decide to use Install Shield or similar how do I know which files to tell it to pack? The same tester came up with some interesting "features" in how the fox install works.
>
Start by browsing the DKCONTRL.DBF that will be in your distribution tree. The files listed at the bottom can be found in the HOME() + "\DISTRIB" directory. Then I would create a test install to see if all the files get included.
>Question 3
>If I keep using the foxpro set up disks and put the win32s and win95 files in the same install set can I "assume" that the setup routine will assess the OS and install the right files? (increases the number of disks which I don't like, might have to get a cd writer)
You are correct. VFP figures out what OS, and installs the appropriate files. You mean you don't have a CD Writer yet? :)
