>I have a very old PC with a small (9 GB) hard drive. This drive is getting so full a new XP Service Pack wouldn't install because there wasn't enough space. I've added a decent size (80 GB) second drive (F:) and managed to free up enough space on the primary drive to install the SP.

I agree with the others that the best option is to clone the old drive to the newer bigger one and increase the partition in the process. Meanwhile ccleaner.exe will do a good job of getting rid of junk you don't need. See http://www.ccleaner.com/update/?v=2.12.660&l=1033.
The SeaGate Disc Wizard is downloadable and will help you clone your drive. See www.SeaGate.com.
