I thought the best part about it being a blow-out was that I could go to bed early ;-)

I am distressed to see that Prop 8 - the constitutional ban on gay marriage - is going to pass in California. Seems a bit of political schizophrenia for this 'progressive' Obamish electorate to go out of their way to screw up other people's lives (though I guess it is in keeping with the idea that everything we do is the government's business) I suppose a good part of the explanation is that minority populations are more opposed to gay marriage by a factor of about 3. I guess 'change' is a pretty selective concept in the land of identity-politics.
