>>>Just came from home, watching people of Chikago celebrating last night;
>>>I was deeply moved by all that emotion, feeling of hope and happiness expressed by hundreds of thousands of ordinary people who gathered there to wellcome new President.
>>>
>>>You should be proud of yourselves. You finally got President you deserve.
>>>One everybody can and have to respect. My sincere congratulations to all of you.
>>>
>>>God Bless You & All the Best :)
>>
>>One could argue that they've always got the president they deserve! :-)
>>
>>But seriously, it shows a maturity and the world seems to be happy with the choice.

>Those are the types of statements that just don't seem appropriate. Electing Obama instead of McCain is not a sign of 'maturity.' It is a sign of extreme displeasure with the current administration, a desire for extreme change, a different set of economic and political values, a fear of an older president with an inexperienced vice president, and a desire to see history made.
>
>I'm sure quite a few 'mature' individuals felt McCain or Barr were a better choice. The majority of the U.S. just didn't agree :o)

Don't confuse 'mature' or 'wise' with the age. This is not necessarily pattern. When Serbia was under Milosevic those
'mature' were keeping Milosevic in power for years, despite the fact that he was leading decisively into deeper ditch
every new mandate. He was high on 'patriotisam' priced 'old brass' , had very 'tough' stance on national issues and all that.

What was in fact happening, was majority of people in deep depression, country in perpetual war, while entire state was in the hands of underworld, secret police, drug dealers, war profiteers etc. Whole thing continued as such for decade!

Then for the first time in history of Serbia, ellection polls got fully packed with 'young and inexperienced' people... And he was OUT!

I don't know why, but on yesterday I had exactly the same feeling, as when I was watching crowds on the streets of Belgrade celebrating end of Milosevic era back in october 2000. I felt exactly the same energy yesterday. Feeling of hope, relief and
liberation. You hopefully reclaimed your country back, and I am happy for you.
It was historic moment by all means.
