Sorry, but I think it's gone too far for that. The ideologies are too firmly entrenched. The hate is too livid. However you want to look at the underlying causes, I honestly believe that things have gotten far too out of control for them to be easily resolved.

It doesn't really matter what you call them - fanatics/ terrorists/ freedom fighters if you like. The bottom line is that they kill innocent people in order to create a climate of fear that allows them to have power. When a band attacks a village and kills, rapes, and maims the inhabitants because the women are allowed to go to school, you can call them whatever you want, but it doesn't change the fact that they have to be stopped.
