>>Now I'm looking for a scythe. Simple, classical scythe. I don't want my lawn shaved into a monolithic slab of green; there are also bumps and there's slope. I don't want the space to be shaped to accommodate the tool; I want a tool which fits the space, and scythe is that tool. Except that the common places where I was looking don't carry it. I then tried to google it out - http://www.google.com/search?q=scythe+price and here's what I got on first page:

Sort of proves my point. What was a common item only a dozen years ago (at least back home it was), where a blade wouldn't cost more than a crate of beer and a snath more than three beers, has now become an expensive club membership, designer stuff.

(at least I've learned a few words, managed to remember at least two of them, and was horrified to learn that I've forgotten half of them in Serbian... heh, city kid, learned these things late in life, didn't take root).
