Most British war films I've seen are in B&W and were made during the war as morale boosters (Maybe b4 the US came in too). The Nazi helmets used in such were the bit coal scuttle types from WW I.

Maybe the US public don't think that, but I refer to the film makers.

In Band of Bros the Tommies only man AA batteries on the airfields, cheer the Yanks on, or are obstinate in refusing to use their tank to help Easy Co.
