>>>I must be giddy between the election and the start of my 3 month .NET course. It wasn't until just now, reading the latest Newsweek, that I remembered our little wager on the election. Your gracious concession speech isn't going to get you off the hook, pal ;-) How did it go? -- "Mike Beane is smarter than me"?

>>>UPDATE: The UT To address feature apparently does not work. This message was addressed to the prince of South Florida, John Koziol.

>>John is apparantly more forgiving of this than I. But calling Tallahassee "South Florida" is akin to callin San Diego "Northern California."
>>
>>Aside from geographic location (Tallahassee is about 20 miles South of the Georgia border) and physical differences (the first thing I noticed when I moved there from Orlando is that Tallahassee has both hills and deciduous trees) there are huge cultural differences. I've been rescued from my Nole leanings (GO HAWKS!), but South Floridians actually root for the (huge shudder) Canes.

>I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that, because I know Florida geography better than that. I lived in Orlando also for a about a year and a half, and one of my brothers has lived in Jacksonville for a long time.

>Funny you mention Northern California. What is generally described as Northern California. i.e. the Bay Area, isn't really northern California, is it?

Not really. According to Mapquest it's about 460 miles from San Jose to San Diego and about 400 miles from San Jose to the Oregon border. So the bay area is really pretty central. But, once you get past the North Bay area (Santa Rosa is about the end of it), things get pretty sparse in terms of populated areas.
