I have not jumped into WPF as of yet, but have you looked at the Dev guide sections:
Data Binding WPF Controls
& Working with Data Grids
in the Creating Windows Presentation Foundation Applications section?

I see it mentions in the first this comment:
"Visual Studio 2008 WPF data binding is non-existent (you can manually enter data binding information in a XAML...) the best way to data bind your user interface controls is to use Microsofts's Expression Blend."

Beyond this, I can't help much.
