Earlier in the year I bought the product with the idea of just supporting the effort, not even sure if I would ever need or use it. Since then I've never received so much as an email about progress, updates, the 'new IDE' you refer to etc.
If it were me and I wanted to generate support and interest I'd make some effort to communicate what was going on to those who had actually showed with their money that they were interested, but as you say, marketers they are not and fair enough, it wasn't a lot of money and I haven't made any effort to keep up either.
Now i may go back to the website and find out what's going on. ;-)

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy
Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.
-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin
Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
