I sort of know what you mean. When my dad died (1986) suddenly in his sleep, my sister summed it up best when she blurted out, "But he never even said goodbye!".

When they tell you that 'time heals all wounds', they're mistaken. It mitigates thankfully, but that's about all. My heart goes out to you.
