>Cesar - the FoxCharts project looks impressive. Can you describe how stable it is and what exactly does a "Release Candidate" mean? Do you see follow-on releases that will substantially alter the product or require a good bit of retrofitting if the current candidate release was used in an app?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your comments.

FoxCharts is almost ready for going into production release.
In fact there are still some missing points:

- Documentation
There are already some good samples, but I still need to finish the Help file.

The ALPHA version of the HELP can be reached at the main FoxCharts download page:
http://www.codeplex.com/VFPX/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=6446

This has already been started, but we are advancing as time permits.
The file is being updated in a weekly basis.
There is a node called "Help File History". - there you'll be able to see the latest items that have been updated or included.
Our intention is to put lots of images there, in order to make people easilly understand how things can be done, and what each property does.

It would be really fantastic if someone that has English as native language could join us with this.
The text needs to be revised, for sure there are some spelling errors, etc...

- Builder
The utility is obvious, but it's already advanced.
I hope to publish it very soon. Building charts will be really very easy.

- More testing
Till the last 2 weeks, very few people had tried toput it into production.
Some bugs have been found, and other important needs as well.
I've been trying to solve all bugs in 24 hours, in order to let people feel confident using it.
The latest release can be found here:
http://www.codeplex.com/VFPX/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=19009

I've been uploading new versions every 2 or 3 days.
There's a TXT file inside the Zipped file that contains all the important information about the latest changes.

From now on, FoxCharts will be backwards compatible. That means that even with new features or bugs, Apps that use FoxCharts versions starting from RC 1.00 will work with new versions.

IMO, it's really safe to use it.
I recommend you to try it , and if you need any assistance with it, feel free to post your questions on the UT forums or at the CodePlex/ VFPX Discussions forums.

Regards

Cesar
