Wow, I'm surprised you didn't know. One example is the move of Fort McPherson to Fort Bragg. FORSCOM will be here. Here is just one:

Fort Bragg and its surrounding communities are expected to see nearly 25,600 new civilian and uniformed personnel, family members and contracting companies by 2011. Economically, BRAC will bring 16,600 new jobs to the region, including uniformed military, civilian defense personnel and on-base contractors. Building activity spurred by growth at Ft. Bragg will result in a surge in construction related jobs, peaking at 6,000 by 2011.
