well, my config.fpw is located under C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual FoxPro 8\Samples\Servers\Foxisapi\Foxis and when I opened it the only thing it had was "screen=off".

the foxuser.dbf was ending up on my desktop so the only thing I did was tell it the resource file location is c:\program files\microsoft visual foxpro 8\ in the "tools / option / Resource File".

I even deleted the foxuser.dbf

and

also unchecked the "use resource file" under "tools / option / Resource File".

I am kind of at a loss now.
