As usual, you mischaracterize my views. I have no problem putting real criminals in jail, if they're properly tried and convicted. (Process matters.) I do object to the state killing anyone in my name, no matter how much that person might deserve it.
I also think that jailing young people for minor offenses is likely to lead to a tremendous waste of human resources and that in many cases, we'd be better off trying to rehabilitate and educate. IOW, I think the justice system should be about justice, not about retribution.
