I prefer INSERT INTO for several reasons. For one, it's more consistant with SQL syntax(that's the snobby answer)....For two, APPEND BLANK may generate errors if a primary or candidate key has been defined and blanks are no-no's. For three: Because you can create the new row and populate it with one command as opposed to an APPEND and then a REPLACE.
