My guess is that the program is running outside the visible area of the screen. When the program is activated, try Alt-Shift X first to make sure that the program is maximized. Then Alt-Shift M to get into Move mode, and use the arrow keys to move the program back to the screen.

It's been ages since I used FPW, so I don't remember whether you can use _screen.left=0 and _screen.top=0 in the startup code?
