>>>We went to my brother's in-laws for the big dinner. The funny thing is my wife made "Twice baked potatoes" haha. What a coinkadink. We also took a pecan pie and fruit salad. My other brother, his family and my mom, all went to Missouri to spend Thanksgiving with his outlaws.
>>>
>>>So what do you have to be thankful for Mike?
>>>
>>>I'm thankful for so much - my country, health, job, family, etc. I sent our police director an email yesterday with an idea, and his response was - "I see you are still clicking on all cylinders." Being appreciated is another blessing. The blessings have been "heaped up, packed down and shaken." I hope you and the rest of the UT folks have been equally blessed.
>>
>>I keep reminding myself that I have lots to be thankful for. My daughters. My sobriety (knock on wood). A good mind and a sense of humor, both blessings from my father. Friends, even incorrigible conservatives like you ;-) Plenty to be thankful for.

>>Pecan pie -- yum! That just got added to the menu. Which will now be Sunday, stretching the boundaries of Thanksgiving weekend. Emily is with her mom (every other weekend) and Allie is with her boyfriend. Just me and the dogs at the moment.

>Getting old is a bummer, but I persevere anyway. My daughters are both on their own, with the oldest living in Seattle with her husband (Army) and three kids. My other daughter lives here, but is moving to Seattle in February. That leaves Zach, my 19 y/o and he is in and out. It won't be long before he leaves too, so I've been trying to double up on going fishing, hunting, hiking, or whatever with him. We are deep frying a turkey tomorrow together!

>So how's the job thing going and the learning curve on dot net?

I am still studying .NET hard and doing some coding exercises. The tricky part is going to be getting a job with no experience, when so many people do have .NET experience now. Ideally I would find a company that uses VFP, to get me in the door, and also does .NET development. I haven't worked since this summer so need to find something soon.

Enjoy that turkey! I am glad I opted against grilling a turkey this year. It's supposed to start snowing this afternoon and dump 4-6 inches on us by tomorrow. I am going to bake a ham and don't expect much snow by the oven ;-)
