Title:
Access Oracle Database
Environment versions
Network:
Windows 2000 Server
Dear all,
I wanted to create a view from the network on oracle database and use the resulting view in a foxpro program.
How will I create the connection, do I need an oracle client installed in my computer before I could connect to the server where the oracle database/table is residing. Am I able to connect if I don't have access rights on the server from the network although I could be able to access the oracle database with admin rights locally. Will the view be updated automatically if the oracle table changes?
By the way I have already added the ODBC for oracle in the odbc datasource, does the server here means the server name or shall include the oracle database name, i.e. Server=\\servername\oradatabase.
Thanks for your assistance.
Ed
