Phelps was just named Sports Illustrated's "Sportsman of the Year", the first swimmer ever so honored. (Nope, not even Mark Spitz. John Wooden and Billie Jean King shared the award that year). There is a great cover photo of Phelps dressed in a tux but dripping wet, as though he had just stepped out of the pool.
